I was just on my account last night with my friend, whom is unaffected. Why only ~3%? Level seems to have nothing to do with it, and I doubt activity does either. What's more strange is how isolated it is. That's a pretty big chunk for a service that has millions of users online at any given time. A pretty rough estimate from these numbers will tell us that a little over 3% of the Steam userbase has been affected by this, if the time of "Last Online" doesn't matter, and assuming that the vast majority of Steam users are on SOMEONE'S friends-list somewhere. Looking at their friends-list directly shows that 50 of their friends have no name, a "?" profile pic, and a blank "Last Online" timestamp, all symptoms of this issue we're having. This is very strange, but I can tell it's happening to a good chunk of the userbase.Įdit: In an attempt to get a large sample size, I found a user with a very high friend count: palmdesert has 1,466 friends. Attempting to go to any of the profiles says it hasn't been set up. Looking on my friend's friend-list, I can tell the link to my profile is one of 3 different blank-named, "?" accounts.
